What is Organic?

Organic means working with nature and food produced by methods that comply with the standards of organic farming. No manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers and more environmentally sustainable management of the land and natural environment. In organic farming systems, animals are reared without the routine use of drugs, antibiotics and wormers common in intensive livestock farming. In general, organic foods are also usually not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents or synthetic food additives.

Why Organic?

  • Generally consumers are becoming much more concerned with the food that they are prepared to fuel their bodies as well as their children’s bodies with.

  • Recent study evaluates that organic food has a higher nutrient content than it’s non-organic counterparts. There is also no doubt that eating Organic food reduces your exposure to pesticides.

  • Weeds are controlled naturally (crop rotation, hand weeding, mulching, and tilling).

  • Organic foods are grown with natural fertlizers like manure, compost etc so contains fewer pesticides, chemicals such as fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides.

  • Organic food is often fresher because it doesn’t contain preservatives that make it last longer.

  • Organic farming is better for the environment. Organic farming practices reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy.

  • Organic food is GMO-free i.e. it protects from heart disease and cancer as they contain phenolic compounds helps in building strong immune system, preventing from diseases and curing illness thus helps to lead a healthy life.

What about ANIMAL health & wealth ?

  • Organic Farmers are required to raise animals /livestock without the use of antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones.

  • Animals must have 100 % organic feed

What about organic and GMO’S ?

  • All organic products are NON-GMOp

  • Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are prohibited in organic products

  • An organic farmer can’t plant GMO seeds

  • A cow can’t eat GMO alfalfa or corn

What is ORGANIC CERTIFICATION?

  • From the land on which an organic product is grown to the producers growing the product, from post-harvest facilities preparing the product to the processing & handling facilities transforming the product each step must be certificated as per organic standards. After which annual reviews & inspections are done at growers & producers farms.
